What is an AI video prompt generator?

An AI video prompt generator turns a short description of a scene into a detailed prompt for text-to-video models. It spells out the subject and action, the setting, the visual style, camera movement, shot type, lighting and format — the details a video model needs to produce the clip you have in mind.

From a one-line idea to a full video prompt

Text-to-video models produce better clips when the prompt describes the shot the way a director would: the subject and what happens, the setting, the look, how the camera moves and the light. Here is an illustration of what you type, the settings you pick and the kind of prompt you get back:

What you type

a small coffee shop opening its doors in the morning

Aspect ratio 9:16 · Style: Cinematic · Camera: Gradual zoom into the scene · Lighting: Soft natural lighting

The prompt you get

A cinematic vertical shot (9:16) of a small, cozy coffee shop at sunrise. The camera starts across the quiet street and slowly pushes in toward the glass door as a barista flips the sign from "Closed" to "Open". Soft natural morning light falls through the window onto wooden tables and a steaming espresso machine. Warm, inviting color palette, shallow depth of field, gentle steam rising from the first cup on the counter. Calm, unhurried pace; no text on screen.

The six settings and what they change

All settings are optional. Pick the ones you care about and leave the rest empty; the generator fills in whatever suits the scene.

Prompts for Veo 3, Kling, Higgsfield and other video models

The generated prompt is plain text, so it works in any text-to-video tool. Paste it into Google Veo 3 (in Gemini or Flow), Kling, or Higgsfield — a platform that runs several video models, Kling and Veo among them, from one place. Each model reads prompts a little differently, so treat the first clip as a draft: keep what works and change one detail at a time.

  • Describe one shot per prompt. Several scenes in one prompt usually blur together.
  • Put the action early: who or what moves, and how.
  • Name the camera movement explicitly; models default to a static or random camera.
  • Match the aspect ratio to the platform setting — Kling, for example, offers 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1.
  • If the model generates sound, describe it too: ambience, music mood or a line of dialogue.
  • Say what to leave out, such as on-screen text or extra people.

Motion graphics videos with Claude Code

Motion graphics — animated text, charts, logos and UI — can now be built by a coding agent instead of an editor. Claude Code writes the video as code with Remotion, a React framework for making videos, then renders it. The result depends on the brief you give it, and that is what this generator writes: choose the Motion Graphics style, describe the video, and paste the prompt into Claude Code.

  1. Set up a Remotion project (npx create-video@latest) and open it with Claude Code.
  2. Generate a brief here with the Motion Graphics style and the aspect ratio you need.
  3. Paste it into Claude Code and ask it to build the composition, then preview and render.

A good motion graphics brief includes:

  • Length, size and frame rate — for example 15 seconds, 1920×1080, 30 fps.
  • A shot list with timings — what appears in each beat and for how long.
  • The exact on-screen text — headlines, numbers and labels, word for word.
  • Brand colors and fonts, and how elements enter and leave (fade, slide, scale).

Tip: ask Claude Code for a still frame of each beat before it renders the full video — stills are much faster to review and correct than renders.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI video prompt generator?

An AI video prompt generator turns a short description of a scene into a detailed prompt for text-to-video models. It spells out the subject, action, setting, visual style, camera movement, shot type, lighting and format, so the model has far less to guess.

Which video models can I use the prompts with?

The prompts are plain text, so you can paste them into Google Veo 3, Kling, Higgsfield and other text-to-video tools. Results still depend on each model, so expect to adjust a detail or two.

Can I use it to make motion graphics with Claude Code?

Yes. Choose the Motion Graphics style and describe the video: the generator writes a brief you can paste into Claude Code, which builds the animation as code with Remotion and renders it. Include the length, the on-screen text and your brand colors for the best result.

Is the video prompt generator free?

Yes. It is free and needs no sign-up. Free use has a daily limit.

What do the optional settings do?

Aspect ratio, style, camera movement, shot type, lighting and quality are added to your description before the prompt is written, so the result describes exactly that look. Leave any of them empty and the generator chooses what fits the scene.

Which aspect ratio should I choose?

Use 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube and presentations, 1:1 for square feed posts and 4:5 for Instagram feed videos.

Can I turn an existing video into a prompt?

Not with this tool: it writes prompts from a text description. To get a prompt from a still image, use the image to prompt tool, then add motion and camera details here.
